A Buzzing Welcome
The evening got off to a lively start, with a number of guests arriving across the early part of the session. The foyer filled quickly, and within minutes the space was full of conversation, laughter, and the familiar mix of new introductions and reconnections that ROBIN evenings are known for.
A short welcome from the team gathered everyone together under the foyer’s chandelier before the evening’s behind-the-scenes tour began.
A Theatre Full of Character
There are few venues in the county that carry quite the same atmosphere as Chipping Norton Theatre. The painted murals, ornate ceilings, period seating, and warm lighting throughout gave the evening a backdrop you don’t get in a standard meeting room, and that character fed naturally into the conversations taking place around it.
Guests were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour led by the theatre team, with a rare chance to step onto the stage itself, see the workings of the auditorium from the other side of the curtain, and explore the upstairs gallery with its painted staircase. Pantomime costumes and production stills lined the walls, offering a glimpse into the breadth of work the theatre puts on across the year.
Conversations With Purpose
Back in the foyer, the evening returned to its core purpose – connection. With a strong mix of local organisations, leaders, and community-minded people, the quality of conversation was high throughout. Guests moved easily between groups, and the busy atmosphere made it simple to slip into a new chat without ever feeling stuck.
A sincere thank you to the team at Chipping Norton Theatre for opening their doors, leading the tour, and making the evening so welcoming.
It made for a memorable evening, and a reminder of how much a venue can shape the feel of a room.
